In the late summer of 1985 Paul Snodgrass had the desire to get Cincinnati area modelers to come together to form a model car club for the exchange of ideas and techniques, share the kindred spirit of the hobby and have fun in the process. There were established clubs in Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN but none in Cincinnati. In the fall of 1985 Paul placed an advertisement in SCALE AUTO ENTHUSIAST magazine. During the early impromptu meetings the club name was hit upon and 30 years later, CINCINNATI AUTO REPLICAS Model Car Club, aka C.A.R. is still going strong. The first official meetings were held in October, November and December of '85. Early in 1986 there were 29 adult and 2 junior members with Paul as the first President and a newsletter started by Doris Balo. By 1987 there were 59 adult and 6 junior members. Over the years the Membership has remained about the same and we are very pleased to have three of the original members as a vital part of the club: Paul Snodgrass, Randy Wilson and Robb Shelby. Thanks to Paul and all of the founders the current membership is able to enjoy the comradeship of the Cincinnati Auto Replicas Model Car Club. We have all become better modelers due to the club's existence.
